*posting a day late since I have had practically zero downtime so far*

After months of planning, fundraising, and figuring out so many little things, I’m here! For starters, thank you to everyone who helped to get me here in one way or another. I seriously could not have done it without the love and support (and financial contributions) of others. The study abroad program officially begins on the 12 but I was fortunate enough to get here a few days early to spend some time with my Tio Randy, Tia Maya, and cousin Alyssa.

We all arrived at the Tucson airport at 8 am for our flight to Dallas. That two-hour flight ended with a lovely trip to the fancy airport lounge for a three-hour layover.

We boarded our plane and embarked on a long flight to Paris. After nine hours on the plane, we landed at 9 in the morning in Paris. None of us slept for more than a few hours on the plane so the only thing keeping us afloat was the excitement. We traveled from our airport to the heart of Paris for our hotel. Once we dropped off our baggage, we headed out the door for a nice Parisian day.

Traveling for nearly an entire day was draining, and we were all quite hungry. We stopped at a quaint café for some brunch and, of course, some caffeine. Following brunch, we stopped at the hotel to shower and change before heading off for the start of our adventures. We went to the Louvre and it is absolutely massive. We only stayed for a few hours or so but I was completely awestruck by it all. Following this, we went to a local bakery for some fun little treats as a pick me up. We took some time to rest before making the long trek from our hotel to the Notre Dame. Despite it still being under reconstruction, it was still absolutely beautiful.

To end off our adventures for the day, we sat at a local café for some dinner and watched the city in motion. It was an incredible day and an overall amazing way to start off the trip. I can’t wait to see what happens next

"Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life - and travel - leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks - on your body or on your heart - are beautiful."
